Current Projects at the ECS Range
Education Building and Club House
We are very excited and looking forward to completion of this great addition to the shooting range! This new 40′ x 60′ building with 20′ covered concrete patios at each end will be a multi-purpose facility which will fulfill the needs of the Eagle Cap Shooters, local and state law enforcement, local fire/EMS, Wallowa County Search & Rescue, and many others. The new building with power, water, heat and cooling will function as a training facility for Hunter Education classes and other firearms safety training, a club house with catered food service, and as a storage facility for educational materials and range equipment & supplies.
Labor for this project has largely and generously donated by numerous individuals and companies, for which we are exceedingly grateful! An NRA Foundation grant provided $50,000.00 in funding for this project, which supplemented the $43,000.00 in funding provided by the Eagle Cap Shooters Educational Alliance (now combined with Eagle Cap Shooters).
Trap and Skeet Range
An NRA Foundation Grant has provided partial funding for a new trap and skeet range to be located off the North end of the Education Building. This new facility will provide opportunity for the formation of clubs and teams, we are excited to see the project to completion!
Line Power
With help from a generous loan from one of our long-term members, we were able to bring line power from Highway 3 to the Range. We are working to connect line power to each of the facilities.
Other Current Projects
Eagle Cap Shooters is also working on many other enhancements for the Range, including: replacement of the manual front gate to an automated key card entry system, a moving target range at the 100-yard rifle berm, and a competition facility at the 1,000-yard rifle berm. ECS is also considering other projects including an indoor shooting facility, an archery range, and additional targets and improvements to existing facilities – all of which require money.
Thank you for supporting Eagle Cap Shooters!
